AARP AgeLine Database
AgeLine contains summaries of over 60,000 books, articles, and
videos related to assisted living and older adults. It can be
searched by keyword or phrase, title, author, journal name,
date, or intended audience. |

Administration on Aging (AoA)
The Federal agency for older persons and their concerns. The
Administration on Aging works to heighten awareness among organizations,
groups, and the public about the valuable contributions that
older Americans make to our nation and alerts them to the needs
of vulnerable older people, such as those in assisted living
communities. Through information and referral and outreach efforts
at the community level, Administration on Aging seeks to educate
older people and their caregivers about the benefits and services
available to help them. |

advice, and legal tools needed to ensure your wishes regarding
your wishes for treatment if you are seriously ill and unable

communities! The American Diabetes Association is the nation's
leading nonprofit health organization providing diabetes research,
information, and advocacy. Founded in 1940, the American Diabetes
Association conducts programs in all 50 states and the District
of Columbia, reaching hundreds of communities. |

Assisted Living Federation of America
The largest association exclusively dedicated to the assisted
living industry and the population it serves. The assisted living
Federation of America represents over 5,000 for-profit and not-for-profit
providers of assisted living as well as a diverse range of organizations
involved in the assisted living industry. With 40 state affiliates
nationwide, assisted living Federation of America promotes the
philosophy of consumer choice and quality of life for seniors.

The United States government's principal agency for protecting
the health of all Americans and providing essential human services,

in the United States. Founded in 1989, Medicare Rights Center

A national network of organizations and individuals dedicated
to improving the health and independence of older persons; increasing
their continuing contributions to communities, society and future
generations; and building caring communities. A good source
for information about a variety of topics, including assisted

National Institute of Health Senior Health
Designed especially for adults 60 and older. Up-to-date, practical
health information presented in easy-to-read language along
with videos, self-paced quizzes and more. A good source for
information about a variety of topics, including assisted living.

National Institute on Aging (NIA)
One of the 27 Institutes and Centers of National Institute on
Aging, the National Institute on Aging leads an effort to understand
the nature of aging and to extend the healthy, active years
of life. The National Institute on Aging as the primary Federal
agency on Alzheimer's disease research. A good source for information
about a variety of topics, including assisted living.

Social Security Administration The nation's primary income security Agency. It administers the Federal retirement, survivors and disability insurance programs, as well as the program of Social Security Administration supplemental security income for the aged, blind and disabled, and performs certain functions with respect to the black lung benefits program. Social Security Administration also directs the aid to the aged, blind and disabled in Guam, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands.
